Catherine Cohen Oh, hey, didn't see you there. Are you back for another episode of I Hate Talking About Myself? The show where your favorite stars from Netflix series and films interview themselves. Then you're in the right place. Our guests pull questions out of a bowl so they have no idea what they're going to get. The holiday season might be over, but it seems like it's always Christmas in the kingdom of Aldovia. We have Rose McIver in the hot seat today to tell us about the worst flight she's ever had.

Rose McIver Hi, I'm Rose McIver from Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby. And I hate talking about myself.

Rose McIver First question, please do your favorite impression. Even if it is terrible. Why is there an assumption it's going to be terrible? I do a great (In a Marge Simpson voice) Marge Simpson. I think for me, I've always been given a hard time. All my Simpsons characters sound the same.(In a Marge Simpson voice) Police Chief Wiggum. I'm I'm Moe. Yeah. You're welcome.

Rose McIver What piece of art can you not stop thinking about? Book, painting, podcast, song? I love "A Little Life" by Hanya Yanagihara. That's one of my favorite books I've read in the last few years. Thank you for writing such a wonderful novel. What else we got?

Rose McIver What's your party trick? Oh, I can do this thing. It's really more effective at a birthday party than anywhere else. (plays happy birthday on a hand flute) But... This is the hard bit. Little pitchy. Whoo hoo! That's played on a hand flute. I did not bring in an instrument for that piece. I know it's hard to believe. You'll have to see some visual footage.

Rose McIver What about the future excites you? Greta Thunberg.

Rose McIverIf someone played you in a movie, who would you want it to be? Oh, I would take Taika Waititi. He just played Hitler and pulled that off. So I'm curious to see what he can't do.

Rose McIver What is your biggest fear? This is one of those ones that you like go for sharks or something like that. But I don't know. It's probably unfortunately a lot darker and more existential than that. Let's not talk about the meaning of life at Christmas, guys.

Rose McIver What rabbit hole did you dove down most recently? YouTubing commercials from back when I was a kid. Like we had old 80s commercials that you still know the jingles.

Rose McIverWhat do you wear to bed? Oh, racy, bit racy for Christmas time. Unfortunately, it's not very glamorous. It's flannel pajamas, but very cozy and very perfect with eggnog.

Rose McIver What superpower would you like to have and why? I think super empathy would be a good one for everyone to have in the world right now.

Rose McIver What's the first food you hated and why? Brussel sprouts? And turns out I love them as an adult. And as much as I don't want to rain on my mum's cooking, I have a feeling they were slightly overdone and that might have put me off for a few years.

Rose McIver Who is your celeb crush? Miss Piggy. I love her. I've always thought she just. If I had a little bit of her, I don't give a bleep attitude I would quite enjoy that.

Rose McIver What TV series, movie or play influenced you to be an actor? I don't know. Every year I sort of wonder kind of whether this is what I should be doing with my life. And you see certain performances that make you believe in the art again and in a very genuine and boring sense, I'm going to be very earnest about it and just say that I thought Roma last year was extraordinary and that made me really excited for the reason people are making films.

Rose McIver What's the last picture you took on your phone? I took a photo the back of my head before to see if I'd left a hairpin in that I couldn't find. Turns out I hadn't. So I've left it somewhere in the halls of the hotel.

Rose McIver Tell us about the worst flight you ever had. When I was little, we flew to Zimbabwe when I was about 8 years old. My mum's from there and it was our first trip to go see her family.

Rose McIver And we went through a thunderstorm and it was so bad the flight attendants cried and it was horrific. And it made me very, very not interested in flying for a long time. Took me a while to come back around.

Rose McIver Where would you time travel to year and place? I'm good right now. I've been really working on staying in the present and this is a bit of a trigger. Okay. It's take me back down to nostalgia, nostalgia lane. And I think that the most valuable thing you can do is just try and be where you are right now and actually be there and not be on your phone for a minute, if you can.

Rose McIver What restores your faith in humanity? children going on the climate strikes right now. I'm stunned and impressed and question my own integrity because I can't believe it's taken waiting for this generation to do the things they're doing. And I wish I'd been more active than I have been in my life and I'm trying to catch up with it.

Rose McIver Have you ever seen something you can't explain? If so, what? The sky. Where do we start? I mean, nothing makes sense. Why is it blue? Is it the ocean reflection? I think I remember hearing that when I was little.

Rose McIver What's your worst fashion mistake? When I was 10, I went in for my first professional haircut and I said, give me something short. Give me something modern. Was it like the equivalent of Supercuts? And they just cut me this sort of mullet and mudflat that went right round my head and people called me boy at school for the next year. So took me a while to kind of get a grasp on my teenage self, I would say. But hopefully that was a character building.

Rose McIver Ben Affleck wants to know, what's your biggest regret? Any time I got caught up regretting stuff. I think that's very regretful. Sorry to go all Charlie Kaufman on it. But like, I think that's the biggest waste of time. You can't do anything about it. It's done. Every decision is the right decision. And you've got to roll with that.

Catherine Cohen That was Rose McIver with a slick New Zealand accent. I bet she makes some mean Christmas cookies too.
